InquireYour journey together as a married couple together starts in our 15th century castle where your ceremony can be celebrated. Your commitment to each other will be set against our ancient stone walls and stunning stained glass window by internationally renowned Cork born artist Eoin Turner. Examples of his work may be viewed in Claridges’ Hotel in London and Chateau La Coste, Provence. An intimate space with seating for 80 people and your musicians, it’s a totally unique experience in a completely private historical setting. Soak up the atmosphere of generations gone by and your journey unfolding before us.
Alternatively, if you would prefer a church ceremony and to travel to Dripsey afterwards, there are a number of exquisite churches in the area, most famously the petit Gougane Barra, Blarney and Coachford.
Begin your enchanting experience with your all-important photos in the castle and continue to capture your day in a variety of stunning locations on our 110 acres of glorious gardens and native woodland. If the Irish weather happens to not be playing ball that particular day, never fear, as you have an entire Georgian mansion as your backdrop instead (and there’s a certain charm to the rain too!).
We suggest a champagne reception under the chandelier to get the celebrations underway as you make your grand entrance through our characteristically Georgian ruby-red front door. Listen to music spill from the grand piano in the drawing room as your guests enjoy canapés and bubbles. Your photographer will have a chance to capture the guests at ease against an original Connemara marble fireplace from 1740 as you do the rounds, welcoming everyone to your special day.
Meanwhile our professional kitchen will be hard at work preparing your meal that will take place in the ballroom.
Once the food, speeches and drinks have been enjoyed, your guests will be ready to dance! We recommend setting the band up in the alcove where they will be in prime position to have the crowd on their feet all night. If you have some relatives who just can’t bear to dance or prefer a quiet chat we have a secluded private bar and games room tucked away behind the drawing room where the chat can continue well into the night.
